#UnRossoAllaViolenza

On 25 November, Fondazione Marchesini ACT, in collaboration with
Marchesini Group Beauty, will team up with WeWorld to promote
the fifth edition of the national awareness-raising campaign #UnRossoAllaViolenza (#ARedCardForViolence).

25 November is the International day for the elimination of violence against women.

This symbolic date serves to remind people worldwide of a serious sociocultural problem that must be tackled every day, but which instead often remains hidden behind closed doors.

According to a report by ISTAT, last year alone during lockdown the number of requests for help in Italy rose by 119%, reaching 130 calls a day made to 1522
(the helpline provided by the Department for Equal Opportunities – Prime Minister’s Office).

Even as we emerge from the pandemic, WeWorld, the independent Italian organisation focused on development cooperation projects and humanitarian aid, warns against letting our guard down. With that in mind, on 25 November Fondazione Marchesini ACT, in collaboration with Marchesini Group Beauty, will team up with WeWorld to promote the fifth edition of the national awareness-raising campaign #UnRossoAllaViolenza (#ARedCardForViolence).

Together with the football players and referees of Serie A, Marchesini Group says NO to any and every form of abuse against women. To get this simple yet powerful message across, we’ve chosen to use an object that always been an expression of women’s freedom and empowerment: lipstick.

We are therefore entrusting this lipstick produced by Cosmatic, a company in Marchesini Group’s Beauty Division, to Marchesini Group employees: on 25 November,we will use itto draw a red mark on our faces to show support for the campaign.

That glaring red mark will represent the commitment of each and every one of us to work together to build a society based on greater respect and inclusivity, a society that protects women’s rights, leaving them free to choose without ever resorting to physical or psychological violence.
The mark won’t be just a lipstick smudge destined to disappear in no time, but an enduring and indelible sign, just as indelible as is sadly the case for the scarsof violence against women.

For Fondazione Marchesini ACT this moment’s gesture represents an unshakable everyday commitment.

You can also take part in this initiative: draw a red mark on your face and share a photo of yourself with the hashtags #UnRossoAllaViolenza #WeAct.

Your mark won’t just be a lipstick smudge, but an enduring and indelible sign.
