The renovation of Antoniano

An important project which stems from the need to secure the structure against seismic events but with the more urgent goal of adapting the spaces to meet the constant increase in demand from people in need.

The refurbishment of the Antoniano begins in July 2021.

An important project which stems from the need to secure the structure against seismic events but with the more urgent goal of adapting the spaces to meet the constant increase in demand from people in need.

Sixty-eight years after it was first built, the Antoniano will undergo a facelift ahead of an important anniversary to prepare it for the new needs of the community.

The refurbishment project regards “floor -1” which hosts the canteen and services for people that request assistance. As well as the canteen, work will also take place on the reception room and multimedia room, the cloakroom and the bread workshop; a new space will also be created for the safe housing of guests.

“The Foundation has decided to support the Antoniano because in the post-pandemic world primary needs are the first things we need to focus on. Every day the Antoniano takes care of lots of needy people and, as an entity that places great importance on the social dynamics of the local area, we have decided to support the refurbishment of part of the Bologna institution’s site. It is one of the first significant projects undertaken by our Foundation, which is already working on other local support projects”.

Valentina Marchesini, President of Fondazione Marchesini ACT.
